Vantaa, Finland July 16, 2012 – The Switch’s utility-grade solar inverter with its rugged outdoor design and totally self-contained liquid-cooling system received certification by TÜV of Germany on June 5, 2012. Now with CE marking and declaration of conformity to ENEL, The Sun Switch PVI 1000 solar inverter fulfills all requirements outlined in the Low Voltage Directive (LVD) 2006/95/EC and the Directive of Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) 2004/108/EC.
The Sun Switch optimizes solar power harvesting and levelized cost of energy (LCOE) in central inverter megawatt-scale photovoltaic power plants. Its design offers 98% maximum system efficiency. It comes complete with its extensively field proven LVRT, which has been field-verified on multiple operating systems, meeting all major local grid codes, including those in Germany, the US and China.
The following harmonized European standards were specifically applied for the TÜV certification:
EN 60204-1:2006/A1:2009 Safety of machinery – Electrical equipment of machines – Part 1: General requirements
EN 60529:1991/A1:2000 Degrees of protection provided by enclosures (IP Code)
EN 61800-5-1:2007 Adjustable speed electrical power drive systems – Part 5-1: Safety requirements – Electrical, thermal and energy
EN 61800-3:2004 Electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) requirements for adjustable speed electrical power drive systems
IEC 62103:2003 Electronic equipment for use in power installations
IEC 62109-1:2010 Safety of power converters for use in photovoltaic power systems
The Sun Switch from The Switch offers extensively field proven LVRT, which has been field-verified on multiple operating systems, meeting all major local grid codes, including those in Germany, the US and China.
