As we move forward in these unpredictable times, we’ve been sharpening our strategy to offer our customers even more value so they can succeed at what they do best.
As we have the world’s largest permanent magnet generator (PMG) and full-power converter (FPC) product range, we can offer customers predictable time-to-market with this latest, advanced technology. We’ve streamlined our processes to shorten the lead times in customer projects to give them the edge to come out with the bestsellers of the future.
We have seriously ramped up our networked approach to give our customers access to best global resources for design, production and after-sales support. Networking enables them to scale their operations flexibly without assuming excessive risks.
And our unique business model complements our customers’ strategies by offering them several options. We can manufacture a complete, ready-to-use product for our customers. Or they can insource specific components or even acquire licenses. Whatever the platform, we support our customers to reach greater profitability.
In this issue of Switching on Frequently, you’ll read more about the successful test results of our FusionDrive®, an unmatched option for wind turbines in the future, and our 5 MW drive train for Haizhuang’s offshore wind project. Currently, we’re working on prototypes for even bigger power units. These developments include our experience dating back from 3+ MW direct-drive turbines that have been running since 2005 in offshore conditions in Norway.
Wind has experienced an extremely fast transition to permanent magnet machines and full-power converters. Now these same merits can be enjoyed as competitive advantages by other industries. That’s why we’re making our wind-proven designs available for marine propulsion and power generation, along with wave and tidal, and even other industrial applications.
Our goal is to be your partner for multi-megawatt renewable power generation when it comes to efficient electricity production and consumption.
All the best for the spring,
J-P Mäkinen, President and CEO
