WindEnergy Hamburg 2014

The Switch participated at the new leading wind power exhibition called WindEnergy Hamburg 2014 from September 23 – 26.

More than 33,000 visitors attended from all parts of the world being able to learn more about the latest innovations for wind power generation from 1,250 exhibitors from 33 different countries.

From exhibitor feedback, 8 out of 10 said they felt that WindEnergy Hamburg 2014 had exceeded their expectations. Indeed, the event provided a perfect forum for high-quality discussions, turning it into perhaps the number one platform for the international wind industry in the future.

Nearly all of The Switch stand visitors knew of the recent Yaskawa acquisition. “The Switch stand was busy, and our visitors were eager to hear more about the opportunities to collaborate closely with the Japanese company,” Katja Järventaka from The Switch marketing team smiles.

Additionally, The Switch was one of the main sponsors of the Recharge Technology Roundtable, where “Beyond Drive-Trains – PMG or DFIG” was hotly debated. Jukka-Pekka Mäkinen from The Switch was one of the speakers on the panel who addressed the question of which drive train technology will ultimately make the strongest economic case for the coming ultra-large wind turbine class.
