The local entrepreneur association in Ostrobothnia, Finland, has awarded The Switch as “The Entrepreneur of The Year 2010”. The recognition was given for the company’s tremendous growth, internationalization and societal impact especially in Vaasa, one of the Ostrobothnia municipalities.

CFO Dag Sandås commented: “We are delighted to have received this award. Vaasa has provided a good growth platform for The Switch.” The company’s turnover in 2009 was EUR 96,5 million, and in 2010 the numbers are expected to rise up to EUR 130 million. Sandås confirmed that the outlook for 2011 is also positive. “The Switch has been gaining power throughout the renewable energy industry by helping the world’s top turbine manufacturers change their choice of technology to permanent magnet generators (PMG) to generate more high-quality electricity.”
